History

Campbell, California, was officially incorporated as a city in 1952, but its roots trace back to 1846, when Benjamin Campbell arrived. He established a hay and grain farm in what is now downtown Campbell in 1851. The city was home to several fruit-packing canneries in its early years, contributing to its growth and development. Despite not being a primary high-tech city, Campbell is part of the renowned Silicon Valley.
